Laramore Black – Thank You All

A message from Laramore Black:
I never really said much about this publicly because I was sort of embarrassed about it and didn’t want a bunch of people I knew to be concerned or feel obligated to help me out. However, today truly showed me the kindness of both the friends in the literature world I have made and complete strangers. With six hours left to go, my campaign has made $1031 out of the minimum $950 I needed to take action.
We are cutting it close with tomorrow being the last day I can easily enroll, but my adviser has helped me find a way to possibly get employed by the school in order to help pay for the rest needed to go full-time. I will be working with Garrett Cook and the Imperial Youth Review to get all those perks out as quickly as possible too.
Thank you, everyone – you’ve truly made a difference in someone’s life.
Update, 12:30 PM:
I’m officially enrolled in classes full-time. I’ll be taking English Composition II, World Literature II, Intro to Human Communication, and Music Appreciation.
I’ll be starting classes Monday and already emailed most of my teachers for the syllabus or anything I’ve possibly missed in the first week.
The final total was $1,221 out of the requested $950 with 29 donors. Laramore has been able to secure work on campus to pay the rest of his tuition, and he has a place to stay until he can eventually move into the dorms. While he still has a long road to walk, thanks to you he is no longer facing the same kind of hardship and homelessness.
My deep-felt gratitude to everyone who contributed on his behalf. It shows what a tight-knit community we can be, even when we reach out to help someone we may not know.
